PSG close to an African Ballon d’Or!

As indicated by L'Equipe on Sunday, PSG could afford the services of an international star after several years of discussions: Mohamed Salah!

As Liverpool go it alone at the top of the Premier League, Reds superstar Mohamed Salah appears to be on his way out. The Egyptian Pharaoh, who carries his team in the league as well as in the Champions League (13 goals in 20 matches in all competitions), has cast doubt on his future in the North West of England, where he is at the end of his contract next June. “I’m probably closer to leaving than staying”he said a few days ago, in complete honesty. Does his future lie with PSG?

At 33 next June, Mo Salah could well become PSG's new star player, after the departures of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé in recent years. “The two sides have been talking for a long time now. Except this time, Mohamed Salah opened the door. There is now a good chance that he will end up at -Saint-Germain”explains a source close to the matter to The Team.

PSG knows Salah well…

The management of Paris Saint-Germain denied the information to The Teambut President Nasser al-Kelaïfi knows the double African Ballon d'Or (2017 and 2018) well and has tried in recent years to recruit him personally. Mohamed Salah was indeed a consultant for beIN Sports Mena (Middle East and North Africa) on certain international tournaments. “NAK” would offer itself – finally! – its leading Arab player with the Rouge et Bleu. A project he has had since the takeover of PSG by Qatar in 2011.

Mohamed Salah has pocketed more than 20 million euros per year at LFC since signing his new contract in July 2022 but the Reds could perhaps turn a new page in their history (one year after the departure of Jürgen Klopp) by leaving starting their official scorer (224 goals since 2017, 4th top scorer in the club's history). The native of Nagrig (a small town in his country) would therefore have the choice of finishing his European career at PSG, with a juggernaut from the Old Continent, or heading to Saudi Arabia.
