Nightmare in the middle of a Christmas parade. While a dense crowd attended this traditional street show in Trouville, Normandy, on Saturday, an articulated aerial bird collapsed on the audience, indicates BFMTV.
According to West Francethe disaster occurred around 7 p.m., while the motorized tank was approaching a bend. “With the slope, the tank fell on people who were watching the show”, testifies a firefighter present on site and cited by our colleagues.
The worst seems to have been avoided
According to the first assessment drawn up, the worst seems to have been avoided. Thirteen spectators, including a 2-year-old girl, were injured in this particularly impressive accident. The two people most seriously affected are 60 and 61 years old.
A large emergency response system was mobilized on site and a psychological support unit was activated to take care of the many shocked spectators.
“There were only children and families, everyone was happy,” testifies one of the spectators present on site to BFMTV. All of a sudden, the tank took a turn and unfortunately it fell on its left side, crushing quite a few people. Most people were shocked, everyone was screaming.”
“It was a really nice Christmas parade that ultimately ended in a nightmare”she regrets.
