“What future for the Emile Borel hospital? »

Following the last public meeting held in the Saint-Affrique multipurpose room, it seemed important to us to provide our vision of the facts on the future of the hospital, having not been able to present our arguments during of this meeting, it is through the press that we will present them to you.

A clear observation: the situation is critical, there is no doubt about it, and the energy of EVERYONE will be necessary to redress the situation.

Absence of doctors

How can we make our hospital attractive? How can we motivate doctors, knowing that joining an extremely small team implies an increase in on-call duty and on-call duties to the detriment of personal life? Creating territorial teams means creating a medical team to intervene on the two sites of and Saint-Affrique and ensuring the sustainability of care, this system works for the medical biology laboratory, why would it not work for other services?

Caylus EHPAD

This EHPAD created following the reduction in the number of beds in the former USLD and in order to ensure continuity of care for residents, they were taken care of by a Hospital Practitioner: This exceptional situation was not intended to continue, the statutes of an EHPAD specifying that residents must be taken care of by their private doctor, for ease or carelessness, this situation has continued until today, we are paying for the lack of rigor of previous managements.

Well aware of the many problems encountered by private doctors in our sector, the fact remains that they will have no other choice in the future than to intervene within the EHPAD, in fact a brand new request for placement will be made with the follow-up of the doctor who will make the request as specified by the law and the statutes of EHPADs, Ladies and Gentlemen doctors, you are going to come see one of your patients, is it really unimaginable that in the same time, on a same place you cannot consult one or two additional patients? The EHPADs of La Sorgue, La Miséricorde and Saint Rome de Tarn operate in this way.

Caylus has an efficient, motivated and willing multidisciplinary team, ready to do more to make your life easier. Caylus needs you, you need Caylus, our elders need all of us.

Request a full-time director in Saint-Affrique?

The appointment of the director is unfortunately not our responsibility, nor that of the collective and even if we find the rare pearl, a director is only a manager and has no other choice than to take his orders from the person who holds the money, therefore from the ARS.
The current director was appointed to start the construction of the future common hospital, whether we are for or against the common hospital is the result of political will, it is up to our elected officials to account for it.

Regulation of Emergencies or not?

Very difficult decision taken at the request of emergency doctors, an emergency doctor nonetheless remains a man, we cannot ask him to be on duty nights and days, 24 hours a day, the regulation allows them to protect you from protect them by providing them with correct working conditions and patient care.

Maintaining Emergencies is largely dependent on political will, all of our investment is necessary, but the investment of our elected officials with the supervisory authorities is essential.

What future for our public hospital?

The departure of the medicine department and the maternity ward are recorded on the Saint-Georges site, the South Aveyron Medical Project was designed jointly by the hospitals of Millau and Saint-Affrique, based on the work carried out by the doctors , agents, management in 2021, This PMSA is constantly evolving, Emile Borel must maintain his EHPAD, his USLD, “Short and Medium stay”, laboratory and develop the consultation service as much as possible for support effective charge of all users of the Saint-Affrique basin, It is up to us to be vigilant about this development and the application of this PMSA.

Today more than ever, we need our mayors, our deputy, our senator, their silence is deafening.

Let’s put aside our differences and our egos to maintain as many services as possible within the Saint-Affrique public hospital.

The visits of ministers follow one another with their processions of promises, let us not forget that “promises only bind those who believe them”.

Let’s not get into the wrong fight, let’s not get into the wrong opponent.
