Saturday November 30, as a prelude to the screening of the event film “En fanfare”, nominated at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, the Orchester d'Harmonie du Sud Aveyron performed at the Millau cinema setting the tone for the theme of this long footage.
In his introductory remarks, the president of Harmonie Millavoise, Jean-Paul Guibertwanted to recall how the Nord department, serving as the setting for the film, was one of the birthplaces of Harmony Orchestras, made up of amateurs of all ages and all profiles who share a common passion, that of music in a state of mind of solidarity and humility.
The Lallaing Miners' Harmony put in the spotlight in the film or that of the Iron Hemins of the North, are two groups from this same territory which perfectly illustrate the vocation of this breeding ground, strong musicians united by very strong links of belonging to the same family, that of the miners and that of the railway workers, an opportunity to send a nod to “ our young and super trumpeter Romane in our ranks for several years, originally from the North, worthy ambassador of this musical region ».
And to add that through “En fanfare” and its cultural, social, humanitarian and emotional dimension and its values of fraternity, it is a tribute paid to the amateur musicians of the Harmony Orchestras who actively contribute to the development of the practice instrumental across all territories and convey social ties.
-This innovative musical interlude packaged with the screening of the film was a first in this format and in this form welcomed by the public and the director of the cinema, Muriel Hall.
