A 63-year-old man was arrested on Monday, November 25, in connection with the murders of two women in Isère. Investigators are looking into other unsolved murders in the area.
Mohammed C., a discreet 63-year-old retiree, known to have no history, was arrested on Monday, November 25. The Dijon man of Moroccan origin is suspected of having murdered two women. His neighbors describe him as an idle and calm man, but often insistent towards women. In the 1980s, Mohammed C. lived in Villefontaine (Isère). In August 1988, the body of Nathalie Boyer, 15, was discovered with her throat cut in Villefontaine, 1 km from her high school.
In 2000, in this same town, Leïla Afif was found lying near her home, shot in the back of the head. A DNA trace found at this crime scene helped confuse Mohammed C. Investigators are interested in other murders never solved and committed in the Rhône-Alpes region. While in police custody, the suspect denied the entire facts. Monday, December 2, he will be transferred to the cold cases center in Nanterre to be presented to an investigating judge.
