An application to help people with disabilities sort their waste is launched in the Basque Country

For the occasion, the interministerial delegate Isabelle Saurat traveled from , this Friday, November 29, to Urrugne. Way of showing that the government itself is interested in an initiative born and developed in the Basque Country. “This is part of good practices and my activity is to make them known and see how we can deploy them” declared the delegate during her trip to the Basque Country, which began within the walls of the house of the southern Basque Country community. This is where Daniel Olçomendy, Vice-President of the Basque Country agglomeration, took stock of selective sorting and especially the “Grall” application.

“This will be useful on a daily basis”

The Grall application has been developed by the startup Glorytech on the Izarbel site in Bidart in partnership with the urban area. “It can affect 1.5 billion people around the world” underlines” the president of the company Yohann Bouhours. The application makes it possible to guide and inform, notably vocally, disabled people towards the sorting points. François, who is visually impaired, explains: “This will be useful on a daily basis and it will give us a certain autonomy that we do not have because of our disability”. Christina, on the other hand, uses a wheelchair and believes that this application “will change his life by showing him how to access selective sorting sites”.
