Three pedestrians were seriously injured by a motorist this Thursday in Orsay (Essonne). The victims are in serious condition. The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at rue Louis-Scocard (D 446), in the immediate vicinity of Place de la République. The motorist fled, under the eyes of numerous witnesses.
In the process, a vast rescue system, made up of two Smur teams and 17 firefighters, as well as national and municipal police, was mobilized to take care of the seriously injured. They would be three retirees: two women aged 74 and 89, as well as a 75-year-old man. The vital prognosis of the octogenarian and the 75-year-old man was “very serious” at the time of their transport to hospital, according to a person close to the case. The septuagenarian was hospitalized in Saclay, without her life being in danger.

According to the first elements of the investigation, this motorist filmed by the cameras entered the square “at very high speed” from rue de Chartres. He apparently took a hairpin turn and lost control of his vehicle before hitting the pedestrians, for whom the light was green. The man reportedly got out of his car before returning inside and quickly leaving the scene. The Palaiseau police station is in charge of the investigation.
