A seriously injured man
A explosion ravaged a pavilion in Saint-Loup-de-Naud, in Seine-et-Marneduring the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. Under the rubble, the lifeless body of a woman was found, while a man, seriously injured, managed to escape alone before being hospitalized in Paris. The injured man saw his vital prognosis improve in the afternoon, according to a police source cited by The Parisian. The woman, for her part, did not survive, her body was discovered under the rubble.
Material damage
The pavilion was completely blown away by the explosionalso causing damage to neighboring homes. A large security perimeter was set up, and at the end of the day, law enforcement and firefighters remained on site to secure the area and carry out their investigations. Around 5 a.m., nearly 60 firefighters were sent to the scene as well as dogs and dog handlers, according to the firefighters.
The Melun public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation to determine the origin of the explosion, which is still unknown at this stage. The inhabitants of the village of 900 souls, located near Provins, for their part speculated on the possible causes of the tragedy.
