Every fall for three years, Apple has unveiled four new iPhones: the standard, the Plus, the Pro and the Pro Max. A recent CIRP report reveals which model is really the most popular. You might be surprised by the answer!
Nowadays, choosing an iPhone has become an important decision for many people. Every year, Apple presents new models, each more impressive than the last. But it seems that not everyone has the same success.
According to a recent CIRP report, one model stands out from the rest. Together we will discover why certain models dominate the market.
The standard iPhone: an obvious choice, but so powerful
Since the launch of the iPhone 14 series in 2022, the standard model has dominated Apple’s sales. It represents approximately 45% of sales annual reviews of the brand. And in my opinion, this is not surprising! This phone represents the perfect compromise between quality, price and style.
Meanwhile, the Pro Max model takes over 25% of salesand the Pro environ 20 %. As for the iPhone Plus, it does not exceed 10% of sales.
It looks like the standard model, like the base iPhone 16, is selling steadily twice as much as the iPhone Pro Max. This model outperforms the others by an even greater margin.
We all know how price can influence our choices. The standard model costs environ 400 dollars less than the entry-level iPhone Pro Max, and 200 dollars less than the Pro model.
Then, the variety of colors plays a crucial role. Standard models offer bright and vibrant colorsattracting those looking for a more personalized device.
Furthermore, the Pro models feature more sober tones. I think that’s really why the standard iPhone appeals to so many people!
So why don’t the Pro models measure up?
Many consumers don’t see enough benefits to justify the higher price of iPhone Pro models. Improved chips, additional camera features, a more robust design…
What if all this wasn’t enough to influence their decision? They believe that the standard iPhone already perfectly meets their needs.
Personally, I understand this argument. I often wonder if the extra features are really worth the cost. For many, the standard iPhone already offers everything they need for everyday life.
It is interesting to note that The larger Pro Max outperforms the iPhone Prosmaller. However, the standard model outperforms the iPhone Plus, although it is larger. This may seem paradoxical.
And according to some, it’s because Pro Max buyers are committing to the best model every yearespecially for its larger screen.
In addition to these factors, the Plus model, although the least sold in the seriessurpasses the old iPhone mini. Apple abandoned the latter after the 12 mini in 2020.
CIRP says the iPhone Plus not only surpassed the mini model’s market share, but also captured some of the base model’s market share.
And according to rumors, Apple could soon replace Plus model by a revolutionary new product: l’iPhone Air.
This phone promises to be the thinnest ever, with an ultra-light design. Thanks to this approach, Apple hopes to win over customers looking for elegance and simplicity.
