They intervened yesterday afternoon, around 2:45 p.m., in a laundromat located rue de l'Hôtel de Ville. Smoke was coming from the business and passersby reported seeing a man trapped in his apartment on the second floor. The police entered through the back door of the laundromat. They saw the electric meter on fire and they used the fire extinguisher that was in their car to put out the flames. The soldiers searched the small building despite the smoke to extract the tenant in distress. The man, aged 55, was scared and confused. However, he was not injured. The gendarmes, who inhaled smoke, were treated at Coulommiers hospital.
