There was a gas scare this Wednesday at the stadium Geoffroy-Guichard. A leak led to the rapid evacuation of several people. Fortunately, there was no damage and no one was injured.
ASSE: Gas leak and evacuation in Geoffroy-Guichard
ASSE came close to disaster this Wednesday. According to information from Progressconfirmed by the club, a gas leak was noted at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium. As a precautionary measure, the AS Saint-Étienne ticketing service, as well as the Musée des Verts, located within the stadium, had to be quickly evacuated.
“Due to a gas leak at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium, the official ticket office and the Musée des Verts were evacuated”confirmed the Saint-Etienne club.
According to the regional daily, “around twenty firefighters intervened on the public highway following the perforation of a pipe during survey work”. A security perimeter of around a hundred meters has been set up. Fortunately, no one was poisoned.
After securing the premises, ASSE announced on X that the ticket office and the Museum would be accessible again at the beginning of the afternoon.
Remember that AS Saint-Étienne will host OM at Geoffroy-Guichard, on Sunday December 8 (8:45 p.m.), for the 14th day of Ligue 1.
