New entry rules for Canadian travelers to Israel

Israel

Starting January 1, 2025, Israel will implement a new requirement for Canadian travelers and other nationals of visa-exempt countries.

Tourists wishing to visit Israel will now need to complete an online application for an ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization).

According to eTurboNews.com, this form will need to be submitted before departure, and applicants will receive a response within 72 hours, indicating either approval or denial of their entry into Israel.

The ETA-IL will be valid until the expiry date of the passport used for the application. If the ETA-IL remains valid, no new applications will be necessary for future visits. Administrative fees will apply.

This measure, similar to those required by other countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, aims to simplify and secure entry procedures for tourists coming from visa-exempt countries, including Canada, the United States -United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the Philippines.
