Shows canceled, rooms closed… The consequences of the flood at the Maison de la culture and the Maison des sports in Nevers

Probably following a burst pipe, the last basement of the building bringing together the Maison de la culture and the Maison des sports in Nevers was flooded. Around 1,500 cubic meters of water infiltrated. Firefighters have been mobilized since 5 a.m. this Wednesday, November 27, to pump the water.

The City of Nevers announces that the structure is closed until further notice. All sports classes and training are therefore canceled. In the judo room and the boxing room in particular, mats, rings and other equipment took on water.

Here too, the damage promises to be significant. The flooded basement housed hundreds of stage costumes, but also instruments and equipment from the Concerts Nivernais.

The Robert Fonseca concert, scheduled for Thursday November 28 in the large hall of La Maison, is canceled. Concerning that of the Nivernais Concerts scheduled for Sunday December 1st, the decision has not yet been made.

A crisis meeting is to be held this Wednesday, November 27 at the beginning of the afternoon.
