As crazy as it may seem, Charles De Ketelaere was not voted man of the match in the Champions League match between Young Boys and Atalanta. The Red Devil, however, has made European Cup history.
In full swing on the Italian scene, where they are trying to keep pace with Napoli at the top of the standings, Atalanta Bergamo is also having a great Champions League campaign.
This Tuesday evening, Dea won overwhelmingly, 1-6, on the Young Boys pitch, which propelled it to fourth place in the league phase, with a more than interesting record of 11/15.
A meeting during which Charles De Ketelaere, author of two goals and three assists, entered the history of the biggest European competition, nothing more and nothing less. He, in fact, joined the club very select players having had a foot in five goals in the same match, in the Champions League.
The Red Devil therefore joins a very closed circle composed, among others, of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Erling Haaland and Serge Gnabry. A hell of a performance.
Performance, however, was insufficient to receive the man of the match trophy. This went to Mateo Retegui, author of two goals and an assist. But we suspect that for De Ketelaere, the main thing was elsewhere.
