Greece, however, saw an improvement in orange prices compared to 2023, with an increase of 30.18%, reaching €71.04 per 100 kg in September 2024. This rise suggests favorable market conditions or supply potentially lower having a positive impact on prices. Portugal also showed a strong performance, with prices up 21.75% compared to the previous year, reaching €82.24 per 100 kg. This increase indicates a growing demand for Portuguese oranges or an improvement in quality and marketing strategies.

The contributions of Spain and Italy to EU average price trends remain key, given their significant role as major orange producers. The broader price falls seen across the EU highlight issues such as increased competition from imports and the effects of climate on yields.
