The Honor Magic 7 is arriving soon in , but its price could soar

The Chinese giant Honor is preparing to make an impact on the European market with the launch of its new flagship, the Magic 7 Pro.

According to information revealed by the reputed leaker @RODENT950 on X (formerly Twitter), the high-end smartphone will make its debut on the Old Continent January 25, 2025accompanied by a significant price increase. Priced at €1,399, an increase of €100 compared to its predecessor the Magic 6 Pro, this new model intends to justify its premium positioning with improved technical characteristics. The device sports a 6.8-inch OLED display with four curved edges, capable of reaching a maximum brightness of 5,000 nits in HDR. Its adaptive LTPO refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz promises an optimal visual experience, but the previous Magic 6 Pro already had this.

Honor's Magic 7 uses Qualcomm's latest chip

Under the hood, Honor has opted for the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, engraved in 3 nm. This chip integrates two main cores clocked at 4.32 GHz and six efficient cores at 3.53 GHz, coupled with the Adreno 830 GPU which promises gaming performance improved by 40%. To maintain this performance over time, a sophisticated liquid cooling system keeps the temperature below 44.8°C, according to Honor.

Photography is not left out with a 50-megapixel OmniVision OVH9000 main sensor with variable aperture (f/1.4-f/2.0), accompanied by a Samsung 200 megapixel periscope offering 100x digital zoom with optical stabilization. Everything is completed by a 50 megapixel ultra wide-angle. At the front, a duo consisting of a 50-megapixel selfie sensor and a ToF sensor provides 3D facial recognition and detailed portraits.

Autonomy is entrusted to an imposing battery of 5850 mAhcompatible with the fast charging 100 W wired and 80 W wireless. The smartphone also includes a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that works even with wet fingers, and benefits from IP68/IP69 certification for maximum resistance to water and dust. Connectivity is provided by 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC, while audio benefits from DTS Ultra technology.
