Accountants can smile. According to the 22nd edition of the Expectra barometer relayed by culture-rh.com they benefited from a salary increase of 10.8% in 2024. A record among executives who obtained an average increase of 4% this year.
The median annual salary for accountants now stands at €55,110. This profile is highly sought after, which explains the efforts made by companies to retain them. 30,000 recruitments are thus scheduled by 2025. Other executives also stand out in this barometer: cybersecurity consultants with an average increase of 9% and real estate diagnosticians (+ 8.7%).
Health, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology on the rise
Some sectors have been more generous than others towards their employees. This is particularly the case in health, pharmacy and biotechnology where remuneration increases by 4.5% on average. The increase is less strong in the supply chain (+ 4%) or aeronautics (+ 2.9%).
Disparities also exist between territories. The strongest regional growth (+6.2%) can therefore be attributed to the North-East, with an economy boosted by professions such as public works engineering (+9.7%). Conversely, the South-West only shows an average salary increase of 1.2% among executives. In Île-de-France, the figures remain stable (+ 4.3%). The PACA region is placed above the national average (+5.6%) thanks to good figures in commerce and marketing. There, marketing product managers received a 10.6% raise.
