According to TotalÉnergies, the oil leak was stopped in the morning of Sunday November 24, 2024 “by fitting a collar to permanently seal the loss of confinement”.
“The quantity of product escaped in the Loire is less than 15m3and is contained by dams and absorbent retention means. »
“The State must end its complacency”
Reconnaissance carried out on the banks and on the Loire, by the firefighters and the refinery teams, “did not find any visible trace of hydrocarbon”, continues the management.
“The State must put an end to its complacency towards unscrupulous industrialists who constantly claim transparency that they do not have and demand that installations be brought up to standard in accordance with existing environmental rules,” scathes AEDZRP, which calls for “a dedicated site to be set up reporting on accident reports and on-site and off-site environmental measurements which is accessible to every citizen. »
