Middle East on the menu at two-day G7 meeting

G7 foreign ministers are meeting near Rome on Monday for two days of talks focused on the Middle East conflict, in the presence of their regional counterparts. This meeting in Fiuggi and Anagni, near Rome, will notably address the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and the head of the branch Hamas army Mohammed Deif.

“Together with partners, ways to support efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, initiatives to support the population and the promotion of a credible political horizon for the stability of the region will be discussed,” the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
