It was already seven years ago… Saturday October 28, 2017, Alexia Daval, resident of Gray-la-Ville, in Haute-Saône, was reported missing after allegedly leaving her home to go jogging. Monday October 30, 2017, after two days of intense search, the lifeless body of the young 29-year-old banker was found. If her husband, Jonathann Daval, initially accused his brother-in-law, Grégory Gay, of the murder, it was six months later that he confessed to the facts and is currently serving a sentence of 25 years of criminal imprisonment. Since then, Alexia Daval's mother, Isabelle Fouillot, has been committed to women's rights. Sunday November 24, 2024, in an interview with Le Parisien, it was the day before the international day against violence against women that she launched an appeal to the media to mobilize. “With each new tragedy, I become enraged, because I know that this pain, which I did not even know could exist, a new family will also experience,” she declared. Visibly moved, Isabelle Fouillot added: “We can't imagine the collateral damage: these are brothers, sisters, children, uncles, aunts from whom a loved one is being taken away. It's lifelong suffering.” .
