NARRATIVE – Armed with a knife, Nicolas Alba followed three young women after dark in the Nancy region in 2022. The trial of the accused, already convicted in 2008 for stabbing a septuagenarian to death, begins this Monday.
On April 27, 2022, around 10:30 p.m., Émilie* walks home after a long day of work. As she approaches the Malzéville bridge (Meurthe-et-Moselle), which spans a river, the 22-year-old young woman sees a shadow following her lead. An individual armed with a black knife suddenly puts his hand over his mouth. Paralyzed, Émilie obeys this threatening man who leads her by force towards an isolated path with no exit.
Totally invisible from the street, the place is surrounded by old industrial buildings eaten away by rust. The young woman is dragged into a grove and then raped several times at knifepoint. Still a virgin, Émilie screams in pain. “Shut up or I’ll kill you”his attacker repeats to him. Before fleeing, he asks her for her identity card to read the information on it. He promises death to her and her entire family if she files a complaint.
