support for David Damba threatened with expulsion

David Damba fled Guinea Conakry in 2020, persecuted because of his religion. French-speaking, he arrived in in September 2022 as an asylum seeker. He has been with us in Florac since June 2023 and immediately integrated the local associative fabric.
He spontaneously offered to help organize several events (festival committee, New Dimension and Ancrier evenings). From September 2023, he joined the Florac football team, in which he became an essential element and where he actively participated in club life. For the past year, he has also been a volunteer at Restos du Cœur. He even wants to apply to become a volunteer with the Florac Fire Department but this is impossible because his asylum request was rejected and he is now undocumented.

Despite his involvement in the village, the support of the entire football team, his coach, all his friends here and several employers interested in his candidacy, he is today under OQTF (Obligation to Leave French Territory) and his life here is threatened.

Faced with the risk of house arrest (having to report to the gendarmerie every day) and permanent expulsion, it is urgent to react!!

Three companies in the stressed sectors (construction and catering) would be ready to hire him: the Chapelle company from January, the Figueredo company also, and the P'tits Cévenols for the summer season. However, we all know that in Lozère, employers struggle to find employees, so it would be absurd to expel people motivated to stay here and settle there.

Mr Prefect of Lozère, we, residents of Florac and surrounding areas, demand the immediate cancellation of this administrative measure, in contradiction with the local situation and his personal situation and, a residence permit allowing David Damba to live and work in Florac.
