The draft text published this Friday, November 22 at the UN climate summit proposes that developed countries contribute up to 250 billion dollars annually to help poorer countries face climate change. Much less than what the latter demand.

This Friday, November 22, the 29th United Nations climate conference (COP29) officially passed the official closure of negotiations, and states are still scrambling to agree on an agreement satisfactory for all. The main aim of the 197 countries gathered in Azerbaijan is to adopt a decision on the new financial objective, or New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG), intended to channel funds to developing countries to help them accelerate their ecological transition and enable them to cope with the devastating effects of climate change.
