the automobile museum accelerates its modernization

This collection has been built up by brothers Hans and Fritz Schlumpf since 1936, when they purchased their first Bugatti. They purchased many of them using funds from their spinning business. For a long time, a warehouse secretly housed these vehicles; the collection was discovered in 1976 and is now visible to the public. The museum, located in , has been open for almost 50 years. And it has continued to renew itself ever since.

Over the years, it has welcomed new cars such as single-seaters, prototypes and the famous and extremely rare Bugatti Veyron, a speed monster capable of tops of 407 km/h!

Thematic exhibitions

Since the beginning of November, the museum has been exhibiting a 2021 Alpine A110, hand-painted by Felipe Pantone and limited to 4 examples. It celebrates the launch of Alpine into F1. It will be exhibited for a period of three years in the museum. From November 30 to March 2, it will also host the collection of legendary rally cars, including 20 emblematic models from the 1960s to 2000 such as the Lancia Stratos, the Audi Sport Quattro, etc.

This prestigious museum had already temporarily exhibited other collections of cars, grouped by theme, like the collection of the Prince of Monaco or the cars from the films of Louis de Funès.

New experiences

In order to complete its offer and offer a day-long visit, the museum has developed new activities and entertainment such as arcade machines on the theme of car games, a mini indoor circuit with electric karting for children, a racing simulator driving a Bugatti Royale, a virtual reality animation to learn how to change the wheel of an F1 car around a single-seater, etc. QR codes have been placed in front of certain cars and allow you to discover archives, videos and sounds of the vehicle.

For car enthusiasts, the experience can go even further. My Classic Automobile, an agency external to the museum, offers a selection of a few vehicles (external to the collection) that can be rented for a few laps on the museum's autodrome or for a road trip. Thrill guaranteed!
