ATP, Davis Cup > “They scribbled the last image of Nadal. Spain drowned itself in the event, instead of concentrating on the competition. What a lack of humility. A shame for Rafa”, persists Benoît Maylin

Our colleague Benoît Maylin is really having trouble digesting Rafael Nadal’s failed outing during the Davis Cup quarter-finals against the Netherlands in Malaga.

In addition to Rafa’s defeat in the first match against Van De Zandschulp, Spain was eliminated to everyone’s surprise while everyone was waiting and hoping for a big celebration this weekend during the last four of the competition.

For Benoît, if David Ferrer, the captain, is guilty, as he affirmed in the Sans Filet show on Winamax , he added a little layer on his Twitter account by targeting Spanish tennis authorities more generally to their lack of humility.

“It is downright a crime of lèse-majesté. They scribbled the last image of Nadal. Spain drowned itself in the event, instead of focusing on the competition. What a lack of humility. A shame for Rafa! »
