Attempted murder on rue Nantaise in : the author already involved in a knife attack

In , a 25-year-old young man was seriously injured in the abdomen during the night of Monday to Tuesday, November 19. He was stabbed following an altercation. As we wrote the next day, the investigation established that two people were accosted by three individuals who allegedly attacked them for a reason which at this stage remains to be established. One of the three attackers stabbed one of the victims in the stomach, who were able to flee, the injured being taken care of by the emergency services. The attackers also took the bike of the stabbed victim.

10 days of ITT

Rennes prosecutor Frédéric Teillet confirmed this Thursday that the latter's injuries justify a 10-day ITT set by the medical examiner.

The three individuals were arrested by the BAC services after the attack on the night of November 18 to 19, 2024 near Place .

In a press release, the prosecutor explains that the work of investigators made it possible to make a connection with an attempted homicide that occurred on November 2, 2024 at the exit of the Carrefour Market, again near Place de Bretagne, during which several individuals attacked a man, for another unidentified reason, one of the attackers stabbing the victim 5 times, for which the ITT was set at 10 days.

Two of the three people in police custody were able to be identified by investigators as having participated in these events, including the author of the stabbing.

Incarcerated since Wednesday November 20

Taking these elements into account, the Rennes public prosecutor's office ordered the release of those in custody to the courthouse on November 20 and opened an investigation.

The three individuals were indicted for attempted homicide and gang theft for the events of November 18 to 19 and two of them for attempted homicide for the events of November 2.

The Rennes public prosecutor's office requested the placement in pre-trial detention of the three indicted. The judge of freedoms and detention ordered the incarceration of two of them, the third being placed under judicial supervision.

Two are unknown to the courts, the third having been tried for theft by the Mamoudzou children's court.
