five hectares burned in Saint-Louis

A fire broke out this Thursday, November 21, around 1:30 p.m., in the Saint-Louis sector, in Mont-Dore. Thanks to rapid intervention by firefighters and national firefighters, sent as reinforcements, the fire, which destroyed five hectares of vegetation, was able to be contained around 3:30 p.m.

Sixteen firefighters, assisted by three tank trucks, a command vehicle and a medical support vehicle, were deployed in Saint-Louis, in Mont-Dore. Five hectares of vegetation went up in smoke. Without the intervention of firefighters and national firefighters, who came as reinforcements, the fire threatened to spread quickly towards the mountain range.

The rapid intervention of firefighters made it possible to contain the flames before they spread over several hundred, even thousands of hectares of vegetation, according to our sources. Around 3:30 p.m., the fire was contained, but teams remained mobilized to extinguish hot spots and control residual outbreaks. Homes located in the intervention area were protected. Complete control of the flames would be expected before nightfall.
