Israel offers bounty of five million dollars per hostage released

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Tuesday a reward of five million dollars offered to anyone who brings back a hostage held in Gaza. “Anyone who brings a hostage back to us will find with us a safe way for them and their family to get out” of Palestinian territory, he declared. “We will also give a reward of five million dollars for each hostage,” he added.

“Anyone who dares to harm our hostages is considered dead”

The statement was made in the “Netzarim Corridor”, a buffer zone set up by the Israeli army which cuts off the northern Gaza Strip from the rest of the small Palestinian territory. This is the fourth time since the start of the war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas that Benjamin Netanyahu’s services have broadcast videos of the Israeli Prime Minister filmed inside this Palestinian territory. Never before had images been shot so deeply.

“Anyone who dares to harm our hostages is considered dead. We will chase you and we will catch you,” he said. “We are also making efforts to locate the hostages and bring them back. We are not giving up on it. We will continue to do this until we have found them all: the living and the dead,” he added.

Accompanied by his Defense Minister, Israel Katz, the Israeli Prime Minister reaffirmed that one of the objectives of the war is that “Hamas does not govern in Gaza”.
