Ain placed on alert for snow, rain-flood and wind • La Voix de l’Ain

28 French departments are currently placed on orange alert for snow and ice, while Ain is currently on yellow alert.

The first snows have already appeared at altitude, and the flakes are expected in the plain in the next few hours. This Wednesday, Météo placed Ain in yellow alert for snow-ice and rain-floodand in orange vigilance for the wind.

Vigilance for snow and ice will be active Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.mwhile orange vigilance for wind will begin from 12 h. In addition, a yellow alert for rain-flooding will be in effect from 13:00 to 23:00.

On Thursday, the CAETANO depression will cross France from west to east, and will cause snowfall to the north of its trajectory on an axis going from North / to the Grand-Est“, specifies Météo France.

According to Infoclimat forecasts, the first snow showers are expected from dawnparticularly around Bourg-en-Bresse. In Apremont, residents have already woken up under a light white coat. These snowy conditions are expected to persist in the department until Saturday morning.

Concerning the wind, the Viriat weather station forecasts gusts of up to 75 km/h. The wind will be less sustained to the east of the department.

Winter temperatures to expect

Cursor level, the Coldest temperatures expected for Friday. The minimums will oscillate between -1°C in the west of the department and up to -4°C in Haut-Bugey and Pays-de-Gex. The thermometer should not display more than 6°C in the department.
