One winner and two finalists united by passion

Since Kim Côté and Perle Morency co-founded Côté Est in 2012, these self-taught people have continued to highlight the unique flavors of Bas-Saint-Laurent, thanks to close partnerships with local producers. Gastronomic refreshment bar, summer canteen, artisan boutique and one-day culinary experience (from picking to preparing a meal) form the ecosystem which won over the jury with the diversity and originality of its offer.

The chef-owner Bruno Léger of the restaurant Recto Verso, located in Sainte-Adèle, as well as the owner and innkeeper Lemieux of the Auberge des Glacis, in L’Islet in Chaudière-Appalaches, also distinguished themselves by their daily commitment to making local supply a priority.

“The biggest reward is being together tonight, and I share our prize with the other finalists. Let’s work hand in hand, the ARQ, Aliments du Québec, Terroir et Saveurs du Québec, to develop new sectors and promote little-known products,” Perle Morency insisted when receiving her prize.

The Aliments du Québec au menu recognition program now has more than 900 restaurants across Quebec that cook mainly with local foods.
