Sony has just released the “Pro” version, announced at the start of the school year and available from November 7. The release of this new “boosted” opus could also and above all affect the prices of the “classic” PS5 with packs expected during Black Friday, the famous “bundles”. Surprise all the same with the first online promotions on the PS5 Pro from the start of November! Rakuten is therefore offering a 10 euro coupon, bringing the price of the console down to 789 euros. On the other hand, no miracles for those looking for an optical CD drive, which complements the PS5 Digital Edition and PS5 Pro which do not have one. These readers are very difficult to find at resellers with stock shortages and very high prices at independent resellers.

However, a better opportunity could present itself soon. Only a few more hours to wait to discover it? Since the start of the week, rumors have been circulating about a possible future price drop on the PS5, in its Slim and Digital Edition versions. According to several sources, including the specialist site Dealabs, Sony has opted for a price reduction over the Black Friday 2024 period.

The Japanese console could thus benefit from a promotion of around 75 euros compared to the current price. This offer would start very soon, on Friday November 22 and end on December 12. The date of November 22 is not insignificant since it corresponds to the Friday preceding the “real” day of Black Friday, scheduled for Friday November 29, 2024… But as always, the promotions appear well before on the web! The PS5 is available in several versions: Standard, Slim and Pro. The Standard was the very first generation of PS5, followed by the Slim version (finally smaller) and the more powerful Pro version presented at the start of the 2024 school year. Each console therefore has its price. The cheapest PS5 console remains the so-called “Digital” version which does not have a disc reader and which only allows you to play in a dematerialized version by downloading your games from the internet. This is also the case for the much more expensive PS5 Pro, which caused people to cringe at the release of this boosted console at a very “premium” price… Independent optical disk drives, which allow you to playing games on disc, are also more difficult to find.
