The investigation was opened following the fire of three vehicles, on the night of November 11 to 12 (our edition of 11/14/2024), including two near the town hall and a third on the street of May 8, 1945. But During the same night, several homes, mainly belonging to the municipality, were also visited by one or more individuals.

“The events took place where a car was set on fire. Of the three accommodations, one apartment was visited, but the tenant had just moved. There was no harm, apart from the damage to the door“, Mayor Marie-Anne Wattier tells us. Fellow citizens, a few meters further away and still in the center of the village, were less lucky since the perpetrator(s) stole tools from a building. The damage would be a tiller but also a hedge trimmer.

All these misdeeds could have stopped there, but a resident also complained that his gas bottles were opened during that same night. “ It's true that it's a lot all the same, and I understand the feeling of insecurity of the population “, continues the councilor, even fearing to see a psychosis take hold in his commune.

But while the firefighters of the locality of Buironfosse had already been mobilized all night, they were called again the following night for a fourth car engulfed in flames, in the same place as the day before, rue du 8 mai 1945. Two other vehicles were damaged. “Alerted by the firefighters, me and my deputy, we turned around the town to see if there was any movement, but we saw nothing“, continues the first magistrate.
