His family confirmed to them that he passed away “around 8:45 a.m., surrounded by loved ones” without specifying the cause of this sudden disappearance. His entourage, however, revealed that he “had faced several health problems in recent years, including complications from spinal surgery and spinal cancer”.

Real name Reggie Gibson, this music lover grew up alongside several West Coast rap figures including Dr. Dre, who considered him his protégé, and Tupac, then in the early stages of his life as an artist. The latter was also part of the same group as Saafir, the Digital Underground founded in 1987. But it was his meeting with Xzibit that would boost his career.
