A report criticizes the exorbitant prices of medicines in Morocco and calls for urgent reform – Telquel.ma

Selon Alyaoum24the report criticizes the 2013 decree regulating drug prices, which, according to the network, favors the interests of multinational pharmaceutical companies to the detriment of public health.

It reveals that loopholes in this decree allow exorbitant price increases, thus placing Morocco among the countries with the highest profit margins in the pharmaceutical sector in North Africa and the Mediterranean region.

The network calls for the repeal of this decree and the creation of new legislation that would regulate drug prices in a fair and transparent manner.

He underlines the importance of encouraging the local pharmaceutical industry through investment incentives to strengthen the country’s health sovereignty and ensure sustainable pharmaceutical safety.

The report also points to the illegal and dangerous sale of counterfeit medicines and dietary supplements, often marketed via the Internet and social media, which not only violate pharmaceutical regulations but also threaten the health of consumers.

This illegal practice, lucrative for sellers but dangerous for consumers, requires stricter monitoring and controls.
