“Ukraine’s position has always been clear, we have every right to strike military targets on Russian territory. This is our legitimate right, and it will save our civilians. This could have a very positive impact on the field of battle”he added.
Demanded by kyiv for months, Joe Biden’s decision on the missiles was confirmed to AFP on Sunday by an American official, just a few weeks before Donald Trump took office, considered less inclined to help kyiv.
Evoking this green light, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo, simply noted that “all parties must ensure the security and protection of civilians, wherever they are”.
