As the big job dating of the Republican Chronicle in Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine), with more than 500 positions to take, we took stock of employment with Sandra Courois, director of work Fougères (formerly Pôle emploi).

The sector is therefore still dynamicwith an unemployment rate of 5,2 %according to the latest figures (June 2024). “It's a stable rate. For comparison, we are thirds in , behind Vitré and Lamballe, and 33e at national level in more than 300 employment areas,” she continues.

Just over 5,000 job seekers

The number of applicants employment in September 2024 is 5,178 people (-1.5% compared to last year) and concerns categories A, B and C. 2,468 people are in category A and therefore did not declare working hours in September. “The remaining 52% declared (temporary, fixed-term contract, etc.), knowing that these are not not always the same people in these categories, they can change them.”

In these 5,178 registered, 16% are under 25 years old and 24% are 50 years or older. THE women represent 54%. Furthermore, 13% are recognized as disabled workers.

As for the level of studies, it is lower than the baccalaureate for 45% of registrants. “It is the characteristic of a pond industrialin which for a long time people did not need a level pupil to find work,” specifies Sandra Courois, adding that the level of training continues to rise in the region.

The director also emphasizes that only 40% of those registered perceive allocations of France work, far from certain stereotypes.

France travail Fougères: how does it work?

Around forty people work at the France Travail Fougères agency, divided into three teams: compensation/allowances, business advice and support for job seekers (the “main part of the troops”).
The agency covers 42 municipalities, which are considered the “Fougères basin”. They generally correspond to the territory of Fougères Agglomération and a good part of that of Couesnon-Marches de Bretagne, with a few additional external municipalities.

300 offers permanently available

On the hiring side, 53,244 declarations were carried out by companies over the last 12 months, an increase of 8.7% compared to last year. “It’s a number to handle with precaution because the interim is taken into account. » It represents 36% (slight decrease), fixed-term contracts of less than one month equivalent to 46% and permanent contracts, to 8%. THE direct hires increase by 17%.

The sectors of activity with the most offers are those of healthsocial action, hotels and restaurants, commerce and of industry (including food, electronics and leather goods).

“On average, we have 300 offers available”continues Sandra Courois. “4,200 have been deposited with us over the last 12 months, which is stable.” Among the most widespread: home helpline driver in industry, order picker, heavy goods vehicle driver or even a maintenance agent.

Lots of training

“Our main missions consist of to accompany people looking for work and responding to business needs”continues the agency director.

For this, several levers are activated, starting with the diffusion of all job offers on a dedicated website: Candidate.francetravail.fr

The formation also represents an important area of ​​work, both with training d’adaptation at the position, to support professional transitions, but also with training specific : road transport, leather goods, etc. “This allows access to employment rate of 71%,(percentage of people in employment six months after the end of training), compared to 63% for the Breton average. »

Another supporting device, that of recruitment by simulation . “Manipulation exercises are organized and make it possible to detect skills in the gestures,” explains Sandra Courois. “This allows people who would not have never imagined being able to practice a profession discovers it.” Of the direct interviews are then organized with companies, without going through a CV.

Finally, all events organized with temp agencies, training organizations or even companies are communicated to registrants via the My employment events platform, to increase their chances of recruitment.
