The Gatineau police service (SPVG) had to intervene Saturday evening at the Frank-Robinson arena, after a general brawl broke out during an U18 AA match between the Drummondville Voltigeurs and the Gatineau Matériaux.

The match took place as part of the Jean-Labonté provincial tournament.

The SPVG confirms that parents as well as people on the ice participated in the fight.

When the police arrived on the scene around 8 p.m., however, the situation was back to normal according to the SPVG.

No one was arrested and no ticket was issued. The police add that the match was able to resume after his intervention.

According to the Aylmer Minor Hockey Association website, it is reported that players from both teams received a total of 295 penalty minutes, most of which were handed down during the third period.
