Endre Stroemsheim at the rendezvous

Continuation and end of this very good opening weekend in Sjusjoen with this men's mass start which brought together around thirty Norwegians, Tommaso Giacomel and the French men's team.

From the first shot, the trio Stroemsheim, Botn, Christiansen (the winner of the sprint) will take off. The three men will stay together until the first standing shot, where Johan Olav Botn misses his first target.

Ultra fast on skis, the latter will come back to within fifteen seconds of his rivals just before tackling the final passage in front of the targets. Stroemsheim and Christiansen will then miss a ball, leaving the door open.

But this time Botn will miss two targets and let the other two compete for victory. A few minutes, Endre Stroemsheim (member of the A team) drops off his colleague on the long climb and goes to seek a prestigious success.

Christiansen, the big man of the weekend, will not try to do better than his fine 2nd place.

A place in the World Cup for Botn?

17th in the sprint with the best ski time, 3rd this afternoon in the mass start with the best ski time, Johan Olav Botn has rare qualities on skis and, there is no longer any doubt, is one of the best in the world on this specific point.

With a perfect shot, or even a 9/10, Botn can win the World Cup. On the other hand, he still has shooting shortcomings but given the enormous pressure that weighed on his shoulders this weekend, he did rather well.

Remember that only one place is available to start the World Cup within the Norwegian team, with the 6 members of team A.

Meanwhile, Soerum and Uldal, brilliant in the sprint, paid the bill today and in our opinion, this famous last ticket should return, barring any surprises, to Botn.

Emilien Jacquelin in the game

Despite four faults, the Dauphinois took 6th place at 1min04, with the 3rd skiing time 7sec from Botn, just behind Aspenes who was able to overtake him in the last loop.

Four errors also for Quentin Fillon Maillet, 9th at 1min22 and Eric Perrot 10th at 1min23. Another 16/20 for Fabien Claude, 19th at 2min. Oscar Lombardot, 7 fouls, drops 3min45.

Johannes Boe, off to a very bad start with two poorly negotiated lying shots, ranks 17th at 1min38 with a 15/20. Johannes Dale finished 20th at 2min20, also unconvincing while Tarjei Boe did not start.

We will avoid drawing conclusions, obviously, after this weekend because for these three, as for the others, the first truths will appear in Kontiolahti.
