Our Bureau of Investigation won two Judith-Jasmin prizes, including the Grand prize, for its reporting on extravagant spending at the Office de consultation publique de Montréal (OCPM).

In addition to the Grand Prize, journalists Dominique Cambron-Goulet and Annabelle Blais also won the prize for the “Investigation” category.
The gala was held Saturday evening, in Trois-Rivières, as part of the congress of the Professional Federation of Journalists of Quebec (FPJQ).

The duo of journalists was selected for their reports about OCPM leaders who “increased restaurant outings and trips at taxpayers’ expense.”
A 23-day trip for $23,000, three television screens for $20,000, a drunken evening for $900: the expenses revealed by our Bureau of Investigation sparked many reactions.
Following the publication of the reports, the president of the Executive Committee of the City of Montreal and former president of the OCPM, Dominique Ollivier, resigned. The publications also led to the departures of OCPM president Isabelle Beaulieu and secretary general Guy Grenier.
Journalists Kathryne Lamontagne, Élisa Cloutier and Jean-Louis Fortin were also finalists in the “Justice and news” category for their reporting on The drug war in Quebec: the revolt of the street gangs.
Audrey Ruel-Manseau and Joris Cottin were also finalists in the “Investigation” category for their report The dangers of healing crystals (2nd part), which was broadcast on the VRAI platform.
