Hugo Curioni. A name that will speak to old people, to those who had La Paillade in the 70s.

The Argentinian played in for two years between 1978 and 1980, in the second division. He even finished as the club's top scorer during the 1978-1979 season with 17 goals. Another era; that the Nicollin family has not forgotten. In an Instagram post, the son of the former Boca player revealed that they had been invited to the 50th anniversary celebrations. “ My father was always invited to , more precisely, to the Montpellier Hérault Sport club, for the club's anniversary, he went there when the club celebrated its 30, 40 and 50 years. As a reminder, when we arrived at the club, its foundation was only 4 years old, some stands were in the ground… Two months ago, the club got in touch with us. For this type of event, my father was always accompanied by my mother, but this time my mother with her health problems cannot face such a trip. So, I had to accompany himwe can read in the long Instagram post shared on November 13. The club provided us with two plane tickets and a few nights in hotels, we know that in no country is it easy at the moment, but added other costs linked to the trip, my parents are not to complain, but one month before the end of year celebrations, it was difficult for us financially to cover these costs. I respect and accept my father's decision, but at his age, I imagined that it was perhaps a good opportunity to close a cycle started with a country which gave us everything, but it will perhaps be done be in another context. My father, my mother, my sister and I wish a very very very happy birthday! Happy birthday, we send you our greetings from Argentina and thank you.»

For those who wish to know more about Hugo Curioni's experience in Montpellier, in 2012, following the title of the MHSC, the Argentinian newspaper the Voice asked him about it, this is what he said. “ In France, I played eight years and my best memories are those of my last year and a half, when I was in Montpellier. It's a fantastic club, when I arrived the club had just moved up to the second division. I always say: we were like family. This title was a huge joy for me. I have very high esteem for President Nicollin, whom I call « 'Powder' [écrit littéralement ainsi dans le texte, ndlr]. Che's crazy about football and he deserves it because he's the one who built this club».

An interview with the club was also published on Youtube in two parts:
