Reading the first trends in the various voting centers throughout the national territory and in those of the diaspora, “Yes” receives the favors of voters called to the polls to fulfill their civic duty this Saturday, November 16, 2024.
From Beijing (China), to South Africa via France and the United States, the bulletin « Oui » is racing in the lead.
Same case in Gabon, where, during the first countings, the curve tends in favor of « Oui ». At the same time, these positive scores for the promoters of this new constitution which will govern the functioning of our country, are in decline due to a high rate of abstention.
Indeed, in most of the voting centers visited by our teams of reporters, we noted a fairly high abstention rate, with participation around 71% according to the Ministry of the Interior. A percentage which does not necessarily fit with the reality on the ground. Because in reality, many compatriots have chosen not to speak out.
Furthermore, when leaving the polling stations, after the count, abstention was still high, around 42% according to the information collected by our teams. Very weak for a national vote during which all Gabonese men and women were invited to make their voices heard.
