Two dead in an accident in Orléans, the fleeing driver turned himself in to the police

An accident left two dead on Avenue des Droits de l'Homme in Orléans on Friday November 15 around 11:30 p.m. The driver of the second car fled the scene and went to the police during the night. He is in police custody.

Two men in their thirties lost their lives this Friday, November 15, 2024, after a collision in Orléans. It was 11:30 p.m. when the vehicle of the two victims was violently hit by another car, while it was crossing Boulevard des Droits de l'Homme, from rue Nécotin.

Fifteen firefighters and six engines were deployed on site. The SMUR services were only able to note the death of the two men struck. The first elements of the investigation indicate a violent impact, which suggests high speed traffic on the part of the second driver.

A fatal accident which occurs a few days after the death of a 38-year-old woman, mowed down in the Source district, Thursday, November 7 in the evening. The driver also fled, indicate our colleagues from France Bleu Orléans, before reporting himself the next day. The investigation is ongoing and the man has been placed in pre-trial detention.
