The gendarmes were able to count on an unusual boost after the discovery of the body of a 70-year-old man in Gouarec (Côtes-d'Armor) on Wednesday November 13, reports France Bleu.
A drug dealer contacted the gendarmerie to explain to them that he had seen the body of the septuagenarian in the toilet of the home of one of his friends, an individual “ dangerous » who owns a weapon. Placed in police custody, he admitted that he had already come to deliver narcotics to his friend's house.
Two incarcerations
The denunciation allowed agents of the National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN) to arrest the suspect at his home, less than two days after the discovery of the victim's body. Aged 30, he said that he had “ confused » with the victim on November 12. He allegedly hit her then carried her to the back of a parking lot, thinking that the man was not dead. He was indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention.
The police also carried out a search at the home of the dealer who had contacted them. In particular, they found nearly 24 kilos of cannabis, 137 grams of cocaine and 13 sachets of ecstasy. He was sentenced in court on prior admission of guilt and placed in detention.
According to the public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc, interviewed by France Bleu, there is no link “ established » between drug trafficking and the death of the victim.
