The French ambassador to Canada, Michel Miraillet, hopes that his country will one day organize the World Acadian Congress.
He expressed this idea during an interview while responding to a question about the ties uniting Acadia and France on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the French consulate in Moncton in New Brunswick.
Acadia is spoken in France, it is spoken in the west of France. There are still very strong Acadian brands. There is a flood of tourists
underlined Michel Miraillet, then expressing his wish.
I hope, in any case I am campaigning so that one day we can think about organizing the World Acadian Congress in France.
France and Acadia maintain cultural, economic and academic ties, recalled the ambassador. He mentioned as an example a French expert who will create a link between Dalhousie University and research institutes in France as well as the presence in the Atlantic of French companies Thales and Michelin.
Mr. Miraillet also recalled the cultural and tourist attachment to France and Acadia that the latter can develop.
This is just my personal idea
Michel Miraillet recalled that it is Acadia which decides where it organizes its big gathering.
It is a decision that must be taken into account, which must be reflected upon when the time comes, probably not for the next World Acadian Congress, but we can imagine something in the west of France in ten years.
he said.

I think it wouldn’t lack charm. This is just my personal idea
concluded Michel Miraillet on this subject.
If the World Acadian Congress takes place in France one day, it would not be the first time that it has been organized outside the Atlantic provinces. The event took place in Louisiana in 1999 and partly in Maine and Quebec in 2014.
