Marc Casado explains what was “the trigger” that allowed him to become a starter

While discovering the behind the scenes of a national gathering, Marc Casado took part in a media day organized by the Spanish selection. The young Barcelona midfielder spoke about his promising start to the season.

Your name inevitably takes on an extra dimension when you become international. And that, Marc Casado discovered this in November, he who was called up, for the first time in his career, by Luis de la Fuente for the Spain matches. The young FC Barcelona midfielder therefore, like his teammates, participated in the day open to the media. Sports World took the opportunity to ask him a few questions.

Casado also believes that this summer’s preseason with Barça was a turning point in his progress. “During this pre-season with Flick, I had this “click”. I renewed because they told me that Flick wanted me in the team, he wanted to see me, but it’s true that the previous idea was also to renew because I always wanted to be linked to the Barca. The idea was to go on loan, but they spoke to Flick and said he wanted to see me in pre-season and that in theory he was counting on me.”

With Rodri absent due to injury, Casado could apply for a starting place against Denmark and against Switzerland in this defensive midfielder role, which he occupies brilliantly at Barça. When questioned about this, the player remained sober.

“I spoke with the coach yesterday and he also gave me a short video to tell me more or less what he expected of me. Now it will be up to me to convince De la Fuente and I will try to do everything possible to make it so.”
