There are now four civil partnerships for every five marriages celebrated and in both cases, the proportion is the same: 93% heterosexual couples for 7% homosexual couples.
Generally speaking, the number of people in civil partnerships has continued to increase since the creation of the contract. Only the year 2020, marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, recorded a drop in the number of civil partnerships with some 173,000 signatures. In 2022, a record was recorded with 209,827 contracts signed.
