[EN DIRECT] The City, New Horizons 2024: how to adapt to climate change?

On the one hand, the well-being of residents wanting a smooth and pleasant life. On the other, the preservation of the planet and the sacrifices it implies. Torn between these two poles, Mediterranean cities find themselves at the forefront of reflection on the necessary adaptation. Faced with climate change that is palpable on a daily basis, city councilors are calling on citizens to change their lifestyles. The latter, as if in a mirror, regularly praise and vote in favor of a profound modification of urban spaces. The use of renewable energies, the promotion of public transport and soft mobility, as well as the development of green zones to improve air quality and provide relaxation spaces are at the heart of urban residents' concerns. Faced with heat waves and the new spirit of the times, should we completely reinvent the city?

Architects and urban planners will be present on November 15 in Nice to answer these questions during the “La Ville, Nouveaux Horizons” event organized by Le Point.
