In the middle of the night, a fire declared in the premises of the Italian restaurant “Le Marcellino”, located on avenue Jean Prouvé in Nimes (Gard). The fire was reported to the firefighters around 3:30 a.m., Thursday November 14, 2024. At that time, no one was on site. No casualties is not to be deplored.

A violent fire

Asked by Actu.fr, the Gard firefighters look back on this long nocturnal intervention.

“It was a fairly significant fire outbreak which was reported to us at 3h38 precisely in this restaurant, in the Ville Active district. Around twenty firefighters immediately went to the site with several technical intervention vehicles, including one large scale et two fire vans », Explains the firefighter straight away.

The rapid presence of emergency services helped prevent any spread to neighboring buildings.

The bar

“For a reason still unknown, the fire started at the bar and spread to the technical elements of the establishment including the refrigerators,” explains the firefighter contacted.

Requested at the start of the day, Thursday November 14, the teams of the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that “the fire is completely off and thatno casualtiesis not to be deplored on site.

Firefighters remain on watch all morning. In particular, they carry out regular temperature readings using several thermal cameras.
