This Tuesday, November 12, late in the afternoon, a driver forced a Customs roadblock in Pamiers before fleeing in the direction of Bonnac. The driver did not respond to the officials' commands, but this forceful passage took place without damage or injuries. The Customs Department refuses to specify whether this vehicle was known, or had been the subject of a report earlier in the day.

Customs agents then gave chase to the fleeing vehicle, which headed towards Bonnac. “He crossed the village at high speed,” explains a witness, alerted by the sound of sirens. The chase reached the Lafargue district, before heading towards the center of the town. Customs agents then decided to let the vehicle go, as a precaution, so as not to endanger witnesses or local residents.

At almost the same time, a joint operation by the national police and the border police was taking place in the streets of Pamiers, but unrelated to this incident. After the Place Nette operation from October 8 to 10, this new operation took place in the presence of Delphine Lemaire, chief of staff of the prefect of Ariège. Accompanied by Laurent Garceau, departmental director of the Ariège national police (DDPN 09), as well as the border police, Delphine Lemaire was able to attend several checks in the city center. This new operation aimed in particular to respond to the concerns of the Appameans, directly linked to the violent brawl which shook the streets of the city of three bell towers at the end of October.
