Hundreds of homes in Batarelle deprived of gas

Panic on board on the eve of a long weekend for residents of the Batarelle Basse residence, in Saint-Mitre (13e). « Friday evening we discovered that there was no hot water and no heating », says a mother, owner of an apartment. With two young children, she decided to go take the showers at her mother’s house, on the other side of town. For the rest, “ well we’ll heat the water in pans and we’ll put on sweaters, no choice “, the young woman is indignant.

In a co-ownership of 229 lots, the situation potentially affects several hundred people with “ elderly people, young children… », testifies our resident.

Called to the rescue this Saturday, November 9, the company which provides emergencies on behalf of the co-owners’ trustee discovered, on the gas pipe which supplies the collective boiler room, a GRDF seal dated November 8. And didn’t take responsibility for breaking it.

The trustee would have paid the bill, he assured the owners. “ Already on the eve of the 14th July, we had a problem because we had not received the offers within the framework of the tariff shield, the trustee had waited too long, GRDF had cut off considering that it was an unpaid bill », specifies the young woman. She tried to call the emergency number and argued for a winter break without success. The owners have no explanation for the reasons for this seal.

When contacted, GRDF was unable to respond.
